The Post-Surgery Garage Sanctuary

The LED Shop Light Sabotage

I also swapped my old space heater for one that didn't glow bright orange. A Realization About Radar vs. Camera

One rainy evening in March, while I was tweaking the baffle, I had a bit of a 'grass is greener' moment. I realized that if I had gone with a radar-based system, I wouldn't be fighting light at all. We often hear that photometric is the only way for small garages because you don't need 10 feet of ball flight, but I’m starting to think we’ve been told a half-truth. Stop chasing high-end photometric launch monitors if you only practice indoors; radar-based systems often provide more accurate club data in restricted swing spaces because they don't care if your shop lights are flickering or if the sun is hitting your mat at a weird angle. They track the metal of the club, not the dimples on the ball.

Of course, I’m stuck with what I have until 2026, so I’ve had to make peace with my 'dimple-tracking' cameras. It’s a bit like managing a server room—you fix the environment first, then you look at the hardware.
